Massage & Spa

Thailand is renowned for its array of exotic treatments and therapies. Perhaps most well known is traditional thai massage which many call "the perfect massage". It's an ancient art deting back more than 2,500 years to the temples and traditions of Buddhism.

Traditional Thai Massage
The basic principle of traditional thai massage involves the concept of 10 invisible energy lines flowing through the body, know as "Sip Saen". It's believed that by massaging these points diseases can be cured and pain eradicated. Traditional Thai massage includes deep stretches similar to yoga, rhythmic, gentle rocking movements, and pressure at specific points on the body. It's very popular with travellers and the most popular spa treatment is traditional thai massage, be it foot massage or body massage.

If you have time and have never tried a traditional thai massge in a traditional environment, Wat Pho Thai Massage School is a good place to start. There are numerous traditional thai massage centres and if you are somewhere on Surawong, Silom or Sukhumvit, you are bound to find places that provide traditional massage.

Beauty Day Spa
As many say, your visit to Thailand is not complete without the pampering of a beauty day spa. Like the traditional Thai massage, Thai spas provide traditional ways of preserving well-being, curing ailments, and promoting the balance of a healthy body and soul. It's different from traditional Thai massage in that it utilizes plants and herbs with the use of water.

Siam Tulips festival at Chaiyaphum, Thailand

Pa Hin Ngam is a National Park in Chaiyaphum province, Thailand. The name Hin Ngam means beautiful stone, where Pa means forest.

The park is located at the boundary of the Phetchabun mountain range with the Khorat Plateau. The steep cliff at the 846 m high Sut Phan Din viewpoint allows a great view into a valley of the Sonthi River and the Sap Langka Wildlife Sanctuary. The name Sut Phan Din means end of land, reflecting the steepness of the cliff. This cliff also marks the watershed between the Chao Phraya and the Mekong rivers.

Near the viewpoint is one of the fields of the Siam Tulip. The dipterocarp forests bloom with the purple flowers at the beginning of the raining season in July.

The park got its name from the strange rock formations in the Hin Ngam Rock Ground, located at the western end of the park. Erosion has carved several large rocks into striking and unusual shapes.

One of the most famous wild fields of Siam Tulips is in the Pa Hin Ngam National Park in the Chaiyaphum province of Thailand.

Siam Tulips festival will begin in June - July and August every year

Phuetcha Mongkhon Day

The Royal Ploughing Ceremony is an ancient royal rite held in Thailand to mark the traditional beginning of the rice-growing season. (Wan Phuetcha Mongkhon) in full (Wan Phra Ratcha Phithi Phuetcha Monkhon Lae Charot Phra Nangkhan Raek Na Khwan; also observed as Farmer's Day.) In 2009, the ceremony was held on May 11 in Thailand and on May 12 in Cambodia. The date is usually in May, but varies as it is determined by astrology
In the ceremony, two sacred oxen are hitched to a wooden plough and they plough a furrow in some ceremonial ground, while rice seed is sown by court Brahmins. After the ploughing, the oxen are offered plates of food, including rice, corn, green beans, sesame, fresh-cut grass, water and rice whisky.

Depending on what the oxen eat, court soothsayers make a prediction on whether the coming growing season will be bountiful or not. The ceremony is rooted in Brahman belief, and is held to ensure a good harvest.
In both Cambodia and Thailand, the ceremony is typically presided over by the monarch, or an appointee. Sometimes the monarch himself has taken part in the ceremony and actually guided the plough behind the oxen.

In recent years in Thailand, Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn has presided over the ceremony, which is held at Sanam Luang in Bangkok. Rice grown on the Chitralada Palace grounds, home of King Bhumibol Adulyadej is sown in the ceremony, and afterward, onlookers swarm the field to gather the seed, which is believed to be auspicious. Farmers will often mix the grains with their own rice stock, or the grains might be kept as a good luck charm.

Nakhon Pathom

Nakhon Pathom is province features an ancient religious structure called “Phra Pathom Chedi”, the first religious landmark that signified the influx of Buddhism into Thailand. Nakhon Pathom is also renowned for its abundant fruits varieties and famous dishes.
Phra Pathom Chedi is the tallest in the world with the height of 127 metres (417 ft). It is located in the town of Nakhon Pathom

The name Phra Pathom Chedi means Holy chedi (stupa) of the beginning. The stupa at the location is first mentioned in Buddhist scriptures of the year 675, however archaeological findings date back to the 4th century. In the 11th century it was overbuilt with a Khmer (Ancient Cambodia) style prang, which was later overgrown by the jungle. The ruin was visited several times by the later King Mongkut during his time as a monk, and after his coronation he ordered the building of a new and more magnificent chedi at the site. After 17 years of construction it was finished in 1870, and the population of nearby Nakhon Chai Si was ordered to move to the newly created town around the chedi.
Sanam Chandra Palace is a tiny castle-like structure built in a combination of French and English styles, but with adaptions for the tropical climate [1] The palace grounds is located on a site Nakhon Pathom, Thailand and consists of five buildings and a Ganesh shrine. The palace was built from 1907 to 1911[2] by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI), and has a view of Phra Pathom Chedi.
Sanam Chandra Palace celebrated its 100-year anniversary from November 23, 2007 to December 2, 2007.
